Canelo Vs GGG "The Rematch"

Canelo Vs GGG "The Rematch"

By Bryan Connolly

It is official and fight fans around the world are waiting with huge anticipation for the "second war" between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez on September 15th in Las Vegas.

The first encounter between these two stars was an all out battle fest and if this fight is anything like that were in for another spectacle. That fight ended in very controversial circumstances with the scores widely apart but still on the list for fight of the year in 2017.  The judges scored the contest 115-113 (GGG) 118-110 (Canelo) and a 114-114.

Since then we have had numerous press conferences and a failed attempt at a rematch, due to Canelo testing positive for the performance enhancing Clenbuterol twice. The whole world knows these two dont like each other and even though they seem calm infront of the cameras, you can see they cant wait to punch each other under the bright lights.

"The truth is that this fight means a lot to me because of all that has happened and all that has been said,” said Canelo Alvarez. “I will prove with my fists that I am the best, and Golovkin will eat all of his words and speculations. I will demonstrate who is the best when I defeat Golovkin soundly on September 15 during Independence Day Weekend, and I’ll make it clear that Mexican boxing is the best.”

Gennady “GGG” Golovkin said, “I am happy that the deal is done and the rematch is back on. This is the biggest fight for boxing, the fight everyone wants. It is a fight to see who is best. I am happy to be defending my titles on Mexican Independence Day, a great stage for true Mexican-Style boxing. Canelo can walk to the ring last. Canelo can be introduced last. The important thing is who leaves the ring last, and that will be me, as world champion, the people’s champion.”

Oscar De La Hoya, of Golden Boy Promotions, said, “There is serious bad blood between these fighters. The fight is personal, and the stakes are high. Canelo will without a doubt want to shut Golovkin up, and the only way to do it is by knocking him out on September 15. I have no doubts that our champion will walk away with the victory.”

The fight will be shown live on HBO pay per view and it hasnt been decided on what platform the UK fans can watch it live. Either way, millions will be tuned in around the world and the T-Mobile Arena will be sold out with VIP tickets ranging up to $5000. Both fighters, will reap the benefits of this mega money fight and will put on a show to all.

I can only believe that one of these gladiators will be victorious, as they will both be looking for the stoppage victory for bragging rights.
