Sauerland Brothers Look To England For Options.

By Aaron Cooper   - @intuboxingfm

IntuBoxing has learned that Matchroom fighters Rocky Fielding and John Ryder are being considered as possible options for WBA 'Regular' Champion, Tyron Zeuge.

Zeuge's promoter, Nisse Sauerland is currently looking for his unbeaten charge's next opponent following a three-round demolition of Isaac Ekpo in March. Since claiming the WBA's regular title in a rematch against Giovanni De Carolis in November 2016, Zeuge has beaten Ekpo on a technical decision and was last seen widely outpointing the eldest of Liverpool's famous boxing brothers, Paul Smith.

Since being destroyed by WBC 'Diamond' Champion, Callum Smith in a solitary round in November 2015. Fielding has picked up the British and Commonwealth titles and does hold a split decision victory over his domestic rival, John Ryder. A fight with WBO Champion, Gilberto Ramirez was mooted. However, that fight failed to come to fruition.

Like Fielding, Islington's John Ryder has also had to overcome adversity to rebuild his career. You could be forgiven for saying that Ryder is on the small side to be a full-blown super-middleweight. Ryder's four losses have come to technically proficient boxers, one of which just happens to be the WBO World Middleweight Champion, Billy-Joe Saunders. But after nearly walking away from the sport following the aforementioned loss to Fielding, Ryder has become a force reignited. Prior to recent activity, Ryder had twelve stoppages on his record,  the last coming against Billi Facundo Godoy in 2015. However, he is in the form of his last brutally stopping Patrick Nielsen in October before potentially ending Jamie Cox's career with a second-round knock out on the undercard of Haye/Bellew 2 just ten days ago.

"They are definitely both options for Zeuge's next fight," Sauerland exclusively told Sky Sports. "We've spoken to both already."

"At the moment, a lot of people want to be next in line so there is still plenty to look at.

"We have already spoken to Matchroom Boxing about Fielding and have had conversations with Ryder's camp.

"I'm sure they would both be more than happy to travel to Germany for a world title opportunity."

Sauerland is also looking to match either man with his new charge, Derbyshire's Zac Parker who is 14-0. But the money would have to be right, as he is an incredibly high risk for low reward. Unless of course should either man beat Parker they are promised a shot against Zeuge next.

Ryder and Fielding are ranked #3 & #4 respectively in a division championed by fellow Brit, George Groves.
