This Saturday night, WBC middleweight world champion  Gennady "GGG" Golovkin returns to HBO, in Southern California for the first time in two years.

Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) from Karaganda, Kazakhstan, seeks to defend his crown against Vanes "THE NIGHTMARE" Martirosyan (36-3-1, 21 KOs) of Glendale, California.
 
The title match between Golovkin and Martirosyan will be televised live by HBO World Championship Boxing starting at 11:00 p.m. East / Pacific. The HBO telecast will open with a fantastic female duel between undisputed welterweight champion, unbeaten Cecilia Braekhus against  former world champion Kali Reis. It's the first time in its long history that HBO has televised a female bout.
 
Golovkin and Martirosyan were in a press conference in Los Angeles, where they talked about their fight.
 
"I feel very happy to be able to defend my belts, but the important thing for me is that I'm going to be fighting on May 5th and keep myself active," Golovkin said. adding:
 
"I always want to impress, but I also need a rival who wants to fight!  Vanes is coming to fight and that will be great for the fans!"
 
Vanes interjected: "I'm happy to get into the ring and show that I deserve to be at this level.   I have everything to win the fight, our styles are complimentary and I'm going to do my absolute best.  
 
"This is a great opportunity for my career and this is the kind of fights. It's now time to demonstrate that I have the talent, the power and the frame of mind to create a mighty surprise!"
