PBK Dazzles In Cardiff

Pretty Boy Josh Kelly Outpoints Former World Champion Carlos Molina

'Pretty Boy' Josh Kelly dazzled under the lights of the principality stadium overcoming a more experience and former world champion in Carlos Molina. Kelly contesting in only his sixth professional bout picked up the WBA International Welterweight title and a place in the top 15 of the world under the organizational rankings.

The judges awarded scores of 98-92 twice and 99-91 in a very one-sided affair. There is a lot to like about Kelly. He has quick feet, quick hands and gets in and out of range beautifully. Although for the first time in his pro career he was caught, perhaps more than he would have liked. His flashy style of hands down low, throwing from the hip may need to make way as he rises up the ranks. Or at the very least he will need to tighten up.

That said it was a good performance against a world level talent, albeit on the slide.

"He was hard to catch clean and when I was loading up, I was getting caught back.
"I didn't want to hurt my hands too much as Eddie has big plans for June."
