Frazer Clarke supporting Team GB athletes
After Frazer Clarke suffered a terrible cut in his super-heavyweight semi-final clash with Bakhodir Jalolov, it ended his dreams of an Olympic gold medal and he went home with a bronze. This however has not stopped him cheering all his fellow TeamGB boxers on.
Over Twitter for the whole world to see, Clarke has become a motivational tool for other athletes.
Clarke spoke on Twitter of how proud he was to be British and how when the other athletes were performing he felt nervous, as though he was about to step in the ring himself.
Overwhelmed and so proud to be British rite now … time getting some sleep a massive day for my brother @galal_yafai I will be the giving it loads in the crowed ????????????— Frazer Clarke (@BigFrazeBoxer) August 4, 2021
One fighter in particular Clarke is championing is Galal Yafai who has got himself to a final of the men's flyweight after beating Saken Bibossinov 3-2. Galal Yafai is now fighting for a gold medal and Frazer Clarke couldn't be prouder.
I can’t even breath I’m like a baby @galal_yafai I love you brother— Frazer Clarke (@BigFrazeBoxer) August 5, 2021
Frazer Clarke also went on Twitter to share his story of how he was on facetime to Kal Yafai, Galal Yafai's brother and rival. Both talking about how unbelievably proud they were of their brother and friend's achievement.
Just off FaceTime to @iam_yafai the raw of happiness between us … so happy for Galal … seeing the relationship between kal , @Gamal_yafai , and Galal is something special , no rivalry just brothers that love and want the best for each other … mite even change my last name— Frazer Clarke (@BigFrazeBoxer) August 3, 2021
Along the way of Galal Yafai's road to a gold medal, he has inspired others and changed opinions on boxing. Many people across not only the UK but also the world are taking to Twitter to show how he in particular has inspired them or given them a new found respect for boxing.
