The Copper Box Arena in London played host to this bout, and Walsh arrived to a great ovation. However, Davis was greeted to a cacophany of noise. Floyd Mayweather was part of Davis' entourage as he made his way to the ring.
Davis never let Walsh get into the fight as he dominated the first two rounds. But Davis flicked the switch in the third round and really upped the heat. Davis dropped Walsh in the the third with a clean overhand left. Walsh made it to his feet, but this invited Davis to back him up and unleash a vicious flurry of punches, prompting referee Ricky Gonzalez to jump in and save Walsh, meaning Davis was sucessful in his first defence of his belt.
The undercard saw Walsh's brother Ryan retain his British featherweight title in a thrilling fight with Marco McCullough as Walsh got the stoppage in the 11th round. Daniel Dubois returned and wasn't wasting time when he took on David Howe as he dispatched Howe in 40 seconds.
