Whyte/Pulev - IBF Eliminator Ordered

The Heavyweight Division Is Certainly Spicing Up!

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn revealed on twitter an hour ago that the IBF had written to him to order a final eliminator between Dillian Whyte and Kubrat Pulev.

Whether Whyte will accept the fight or not is another matter. Following a loss to Anthony Joshua in December 2015, Whyte has been on a hot streak picking up wins against David Allen, Derick Chisora, Robert Helenius and most recently he produced a career-best performance knocking out former world champion Lucas Browne in six rounds.

Such is the hot streak Whyte is enjoying he is highly ranked by three of the four governing bodies, being the WBC's number one ranked contender. However, he has been in that position for some time, yet the divisions champion, Deontay Wilder continues to ignore the Brixton man. Even going so far as to ignore a higher payday, although he did fight an arguably more talented opponent. There are indeed rumours circulating that the WBC will, in fact, order a fight between Luis Ortiz and Whyte in yet another final eliminator.

Adding further intrigue following Saturday nights action, Whyte went as far as to challenge Alexander Povetkin for a fight in June. Povetkin holds the WBA and WBO mandatory spots.

There are so many possibilities for Whyte as he has worked his way into so many different options. Providing he is successful, one of those will lead to a shot against either Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.
